Long ago, I met the real “Maria!” She was an elderly woman, I was a young reporter sent to do a story on a fire at the Von Trapp family ski resort in Vermont. She would have devoured Julie Andrews for breakfast!
Kathleen, what a great story! On the latest anniversary “Sound of Music” DVD – there is some interesting footage of Maria and the “real” kids. Fascinating.
